Atlanta-Based Startup Looxii Alpha Releases Social Analytics Dashboard

ATLANTA, Georgia – August 10, 2009 – Looxii (look-see) officially announces the alpha release of their social web analytics dashboard. The Looxii dashboard enables companies to track relevant terms on twitter, blogs, and in the news. Looxii provides the easiest way for your company to stay on top of the massive amounts of qualitative data on the social web.

The splash experience, available at Looxii.com, requires nothing more than a company name and url to generate a detailed snapshot of that company's presence on the social web. Once logged in with their Twitter account, businesses can keep tabs on brand performance, monitor competitors, and discern their customers' interests. The dashboard provides at-a-glance information relative to recent tweets, textual themes, blog posts, and related searches. Users can view full reports for more detailed information and comparative graphs.

Currently, users can track the performance of five terms on the social web and receive detailed reports absolutely free of charge. Looxii will be implementing several features in the coming months including sentiment analysis, additional data sources (e.g. Facebook and Google News), and full Twitter functionality. A subscription model including increased term monitoring and custom, exportable reports and data sets will be available by year's end.

The alpha dashboard is an extensible interface that can be modified to include several existing APIs. That said, Looxii is available to consult with businesses to tailor a custom dashboard or generate custom reports to meet their particular social web needs.

In addition to refining the social analytics dashboard, Looxii is hard at work making a variety of social web themed apps. Twinqs, a consumer-focused Twitter url aggregator, will be available in September 2009. More details about this and other projects can be found at http://blog.looxii.com/projects.

Part of the 2009 Shotput Ventures class, Looxii was founded by two graduates of Georgia Tech's MS in Digital Media program, Daniel Upton and Adam Rice. The two have collaborated on several successful projects - academic, independent, and, now, entrepreneurial - over the past two years. Daniel has a background in fine art, database programming, and graphic design, while Adam has an English degree and several years experience in marketing, journalism, and design. Together they are working to make common sense apps for businesses and consumers. They bring an interdisciplinary approach to their work that emphasizes simple, functional aesthetics and rapid iterative design practices.
